Manet Exhibit

Jeanne (Spring)

One of my favorite places in the world is the Art Institute of Chicago, and every year I try to see the special exhibits. This past Sunday we went to the Manet and Modern Beauty exhibit, and it was definitely worthwhile.  We arrived at 10 a.m. on Sunday, and it wasn’t too crowded. The exhibit highlights Manet’s later career in the 1870’s and 1880’s.

I’ve always enjoyed Manet’s landscapes, but wasn’t as sure about his figure paintings.  But I was delighted and surprised!  The collection had many beautiful figure paintings, as well as still life paintings. What a treat to see all of them in one area. If you have the chance, it’s definitely worth the trip. (A separate ticket is needed. )  Here is the link: )

Hope you enjoy the exhibit!
